1995 Honda Accord Ex (4cyl)

I have a 1995 Honda Accord Ex (4cyl). The A/C hasnt been working for about 9 months now. I live in California and have never had much use for it, but I am moving back to texas soon and I figure its time to get it fixed.

So 9 months ago I got the freon recharged... and within a month it conked off. Can there be a leak somehwere?

How much am I looking at to fix this?

Any good places y'all know off ? I live in the bay area (mountain view)

Thanks in advance

It depends on where the leak is. You can get a can of freon that will supposedly seal a minor leak. You can also get a can of freon that has something special in it that makes it stand out when viewed with a black light. This will make it easy to spot the leak.

It either quit working because the refrigerant leaked out, or for some other reason.
If the refrigerant leaked, you need to fix the leak, which requires replacing the leaking part. You can put the refrigerant with the leak detecting dye in, and the dye will eventually show up somewhere, possibly right away. However, Accords have a problem with leaking evaporator cores, which are in the plastic housing under the dash, and you can't really see the dye without removing the evaporator case. If you have a leak, and no dye shows up under the hood anywhere on the A/C parts, then the leak must be in the evaporator.
Your system could have refrigerant in it, but have other problems, like a failed compressor, failed clutch, bad switch, bad relay, bad pressure switch, or wiring problem.
You could spend from $50 to over $1000, depending on how bad it is.

Nobody need post after accurate. Trust me. End of conversation, now you know.

What accuratehorn said is mostly correct, but make sure that the mechanic also checks your flux capacitor.
