In last year's edition there is an advertisement on page 189 for Headlinesports.net. They claim to have a large inventory. I checked in July and all of the first five editions retail for over $500.
I have all five. No, they are not for sale. Contact my estate at my demise.
Just checked it out. There is no 1960 edition listed. Maybe your benefactor bought the last one. The '61 edition is now up to $599 but '62 and '63 are down to $400.
At a timeout during one of our home games this season, Dave Campbell was introduced and the 50th Anniversary of Texas Football Magazine was honored. The PA announcer, when talking about the magazine, mentioned that some copies of the original 1960 edition had sold for as much as $5,000!
I own a copy myself, never seen or heard of one being sold for that much money. Perhaps it would be one in excellent shape, like never even being opened!
The one I like is the 1977 edition, I used to have it, it's long gone. Earl is given a pretty small writeup, but the forecast is for a slimmer, faster Earl at 220 lbs. "bad news for opponents".
