1950's architecture in Austin

Hello fellow Horn fans. My fiancee and I are taking engagement pictures in a few weeks. We want them to have a 1950's theme. Does anyone know of a building or site around Austin that would make a good backdrop to capture the style and architecture of the 1950's? A place that might have 1950's style furniture?

Any help is appreciated.

Fran's Hamburgers on South Congress? Also, the interior and exterior of Shady Grove on Barton Springs Rd. What did you have in mind? Interior or exterior shots? Commercial buildings or homes?

Maybe a little outside and inside. A majority inside due to the heat. A home would be ideal but I don't know anyone that has that style.

For good interior shots you may be better off using an existing picture (such as the example in the link below) and having someone use Photoshop to insert yourselves into it. A good Photoshop artist can also obtain iStockphoto pics of the needed quality.

Fore exterior shots of houses you may want to drive around Allandale, Hyde Park or other parts of town with homes that were built in the 50's. You should ask for permission to take pictures first.

Many of the homes in Allandale were built in the 1940s and 50s, but you're way off on Hyde Park where few were built after 1940.

There is a real estate company called the Marye Company that tries to have a niche in MCM stuff. They might have a good idea.

Not so much 50s modern, but it could pass.

Thank you all for the great ideas. The Kimber Modern may be a little too modern for the look we are going for. It is a cool looking place though.

We are looking at Hotel San Jose on S. Congress as well. I didn't realize how hard this might be to find the right spot.

For some classic '50s architecture, check out the house at 1802 Rogge Lane. Built by one of the greatest amateur golfers in Austin history. Jimmie Connolly built it in 1958. Here's what Harvey Penick had to say about Jimmie. The Link

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. We usedThe Link and were able to find a couple of houses that would let us rent a couple of hours at a discounted rate. This works out perfect for us.
