15,000 Rice tickets?

It's rice that should have been expected, but if cal isn't a sell out or close to it then I'd worry

Normally, 15,000 should not be expected because it's Rice. The big problem is how many walk up customers are expected? I would guess not many. Also how many unsold tickets on the secondary market and worse how many with tickets will not show up?

Will Strong making changes on offense have an effect? My guess is no. Many will watch on tv and decide on the Cal game based on Texas performance.

Rice actually travels to Austin pretty well.

I saw 1400 tickets on Stub Hub for the Rice game and 1600 for the Cal game.

Cal does not traditionally travel well, Austin may be something those hipsters want to check out!!! They won't go to the game and probably not leave Austin!!!

My friend that goes with me to the games had surgery and can't make the Rice game.
He told me to try and get rid of his ticket.
I asked him how much he was willing to pay to get somebody to take it.

No source, but I hear Rice MOB not coming because Patterson is charging bands for tickets. The MOB would actually be the most entertaining part of that game.

I'm guessing at least 5,000 in the latter category. We'll have 20k or so empty seats, partially b/c of simply the product on the field, but also many because of the price relative to the product, and also many purely on principle because so much of the fanbase is tired of Patterson acting as if we are his enemy.

No Rice MOB would make a difference in my book, but then again I am 350 miles away--maybe we could get the K State band??
