The running back drought is finally over. With Whaley and now Shead the horns should have some productive depth there.

He plays 1A ball at Cayuga. But he is still big enough and fast enough to play anywhere. He already has about 8k yards in 3 years.

I totally trust the coaching staff, but I have mixed reactions on this one. 1-A ball? He has at most 50 fans in the seats. It will be a HUGE shock to see the 90,000+ crazies at DKR. I know there have been stars come from smaller schools; Overstreet(Big Sandy), Stoney Clark(Gladewater), Thomas Everett(Daingerfield), ETC,ETC. , but these were from bigger schools than 1-A.

Also, Rodney Thomas played 2A ball at Groveton and ended up playing in the NFL. If you're good, you're good no matter what level you play at.

Welcome Traylon!

There was also a guy from 2-A Tatum that played for the Arizona Cardinals. Again, I trust the coaches, so they must think he can handle it all.

Colt McCoy came from a very small school, 1A or 2A I believe, and he has done pretty well at the most demanding position in football.

We have been hearing for several days, that the staff really wanted Shead. I only know what I read about him but if the staff is that high on him there must be something there. The Aggies sure wanted him.

One of my customer's sons is the Atheletic Director at Cayuga. He has been talking about this kid for years.

WELCOME ABOARD!
