7 Redmon, Catheryn (Nebraska) vs Kansas State (2/25/09)

It's not quite an NCAA single game record, though. Sandora Irvin of TCU had 16 against UAB on 01/2005. That's the Division one record and third overall. LaKisha Phifer of St.Pauls (Div. II) holds the overall record with 20 blocks in a game in 01/23/1996 against Virginia Union. Laura Miller of Eastern Mennonite (Div. 3) had 18 on 01/21/1995 against Emory & Henry to rank second overall and first in that division.

Griner is on track to top the Div. 1 record of 156 blocks in a season (Louella Tomlinson, St. Mary’s (Cal.)2008)and could threaten LaKisha Phifer;s (St. Paul's, 1996) overall season record of 219 blocks.

No question that Griner will shatter Big 12 game and season records for blocks. So how did OSU get away without having her block a single shot? Don't go inside.

Did OSU even attempt a shot inside the paint other than offensive put-backs?? I'm too lazy to look.

and i want to add.....

Ashley and Cokie will need to LEAN INTO the body of Griner while shooting down low. Don't try any tricky shots to avoid the block. I think being scared of her is what cost OU the game last night.
