Incredible athlete. This guy could have been an Olympian and possibly medaled has he chosen to concentrate on track.
An assistant coach at Splendora told me he once convinced the head coach to line him up at tailback in a district game. The first time he touched the ball he ran 40 yards for a score. Not sure if he played tailback much after that.
Eleven years in the league.

Played for the Vikings IIRC.

#34 .... in the on deck circle for Sat. .... have the Horns had anyone decent wearing that # in the last 50 years!?
Not sure, but here’s the bigger question. Have we had any players wear negative numbers? Because we may have to do that. LOL.

... shown here in a 13-0 Cotton Bowl loss to LSU, Texas’ only loss that season (a 14-all tie with Rice being their only other blemish).
All-SWC, All-American 1962.
Eight years in the league.

AA in 1982. 40.5 sacks in his career with 22.5 in 1982 alone. Though not as physically gifted as Rak, Crowder, Robison or others on the forty, arguably the best defensive end ever to wear a Longhorn uni.
Thoughts?

I did an internet search on Ray, and found out he died at the age of 56.
The only thing I could find was that he died a tragic death in 1997.
Anybody know the cause of death? 56 is pretty young.
