I'm still surprised she paid her own way from Virginia to Texas for an unofficial visit; not sure her living/family situation, but I just assumed her family doesn't live in the States.

Would be great if she was able to reclassify to the class of 2025 . . .

2027 national Top 5 recruit, 6'0 Haylen Ayers out of Jackson, TN took an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend.

 
I sure hate to see this thread way down on page 2. With Chavez and Makeer only 2 of remaining players uncommitted for 2025, certainly there should be more news/rumors on 2026. Looking back to fall, our offer to Harpring “might” be an indicator of pessimism on Chavez. If Harmon comes back for next year, and Preston continues to develop, and Chavez takes the money and runs, it would be the 2026 class that desperately needs an impact point guard. Or it might just mean, she’s the top point guard in the country and Schaefer is just testing the waters. Looking back through this thread, there are a few intriguing players who have visited. Guess it’s way too early for the 2026 players to commit but I’m getting antsy cause there are several open positions. Any of you internet sleuths have any time to research?
 
Just a sweet reminder that many felt like we had totally messed up on getting a good big in the portal last year. Then we met Oldacre in person and realized that we had actually aced it. Vic did wonders with a rag tag group of players his first season and look what has happened since. I wouldn’t worry too much. We were a one seed last year, consistently get to elite eights and are now well ensconced in the top ten. Players have us on their radar.

But I’d be lying if I didn’t admit worrying simply for the sake of worrying is part of the game.
