INFLATION--It just won't go away

I’m sick of it but not that sick yet 67 won’t do Taco Bell except for those cheeses things for my grandson who is a frustrating eater.
I remember how I almost choked last football game when I had our standard fare at Polvo’s and got a $71 bill. Fajita for one with choriqueso, mango Rita for her and a beer for me. I remember the same with three margaritas (2 mine) and a bill just over $40. And I’m not talking 10 years ago, more like 4. It’s just getting harder.
Good Lord, just saw a Biden ad “Joe just gets things done”, how can they show that stuff?

Trump started it and Biden kept it going with the money printing and economic shut downs during covid. Then after interest rates were raised and inflation started to come down, the US government started handing out billions of $ to Ukraine and now more billions to Israel. We are paying higher prices in the US because wars are extended.
 
Local "street tacos" vendors - usually quite tasty, not sure about their food safety standards; gotta like onions and I like onions (and have some gum or breath mints with me); buy the meat that you know what it is.

Taco Bell - barf

Taco Bueno - with a few beers it's tolerable enough

Taco Casa - not bad at all for a chain taco joint

Fuzzy's - pretty good for the basics (beef/steak/chicken). Their fish tacos ain't what a fish taco should be though.

Fuel City Dallas - very good. They have that layers of corn in a styrofoam cup stuff also that's good.

Forget the name of the place - West Dallas/Oak Cliff - even better than Fuel City.

Best place ever in Texas for a Taco -- the now defunct Loma Linda -- Eastside of Houston -- it is no more, but they were the signature joint for the old style Houston "puff taco". Many others copied them, but Loma Linda perfected it. Went there countless times as a youth. They no speaka much English, but they made the best tacos in the State. (San Antonio folks--just chiiiiiiilllllllllll ooooouuuuuuttttttt......... Reeeeelllaaaaxxxxxxx........)

Oh yeah, Loma Linda was cheap.

Inflation is even destroying Mexican food.
 
Not a criticism, but I'm not sure I want to know where I can feed TEN people BBQ for $80 other than to be sure I avoid that place.

average cost of July 4 barbecue staples including cheeseburgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, potato chips, pork and beans, fresh strawberries, homemade potato salad, fresh-squeezed lemonade, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.

3 ounces of beef per hamburger? No wonder it's cheaper than Whataburger. Think I'll try telling the people at FiveGuys and see if they'll lower the prices.

Not criticizing you, but that ain't a helluva lot of food for kids much less adults. I can hear the discussions in the back yard now, "MC, I told you we should go to Viper's house for lunch" :whiteflag:

In seriousness, the farm bureau does this annual survey. So they include beef, chicken and pork. Also, eggs for the potato salad, cheese for the hamburger, milk for the ice cream, etc.

With that said, why not select pork ribs?
