I like most of the game time windows and understand the flex status given at this point.

Especially like ou at a normal human time of 2:30pm.

However, I'm not fine with the Colorado State at DKR August 31 kick at 2:30 !!! That will be a GHASTLY HOT game for fans and players.

No secret how I feel about this. Someone is trying to get rid of us old folks permanently. I really resent CDC for this.

I have been a season ticket holder for forty years and counting, but…….
For the CSU game I will watch on tv and then drive to an 8 pm high school game near Corpus. The heat may be bearable by then and the game more likely to be competitive

I hear you Sachs, if this were not my last year with these good seats I’d be doing the same but I’m going to enjoy them while I got’m. If I see CDC walking in I will politely mention my displeasure.

So here's my question - how much of this is within the control of the school, or CDC in other words, and how much is dictated and driven by TV and/or the conference?

Tv is probably the driver no doubt, but at some point you have to say “not gonna do it” too dangerous for fans and players. I mean we’re talking 110 plus on the field and not everyone has the depth we do to give players a break. Turf temp is out of sight. Your feet literally burn through the heat on the soles of the cleats. It’s insane.

Having sat through too many games to count in over 100 degree temps, direct sun in Section 2, and high humidity over the decades I can and will agree 110% with you as far as the heat and dangerous conditions for everyone in the stadium, but I am just wondering how much of the angst and blame CDC does or does not deserve. I also wonder how effective "not gonna do it" would be given contracts, etc. I hate it as much as the next fan for sure and honestly have spent many a second half in the Alumni Center tending to my Irish tan and dehydration.

Even if @SabreHorn offered me 2 free tickets to CSU vs. UT 8/31, I would respectfully pass! :idk:

CDC doesn’t set the tv schedule

    ESPN does

CDC and UT have LEVERAGE. USE IT!!!

    There are lives involved.

It is DAMN EARLY IN THE SEASON we need some slack for a minor opener.

Agreed, but all CdC can do is request either 11 or night. The request goes to the $EC who only cares about enriching their bank account and doesn't care about us newcomers. The next step are the networks that only care about eyeballs of which there will be considerable for any Texas game.

Since I am airline pilot and know a bit about meteorology, lemme 'splain to all you savants why it doesn't really matter what time the games are at in August and September.

    It's hot. You're welcome.

No offense, Chicago, but something about the way you phrased that made me hear it in Cliff Claven's voice as I read it.

Who could possibly be offended by that? Well, except most people...not me, though.
