Absolutely spot on correct - and they’re supposed to know all about it, what with their “traditions” and all…

I suspect whatever gentlemen’s agreement the two athletic departments may have had during SWC and B12 days went up in smoke when aggy took their ball went to another conference. Note there is a cost for everything, though it might not be paid till years later.

Put this on the mcws thread, but it may be more appropriate here.

    Aggy after:
The University gracing the $ec with our presence
    Sark leading Horns to CFP
    Aggy losing 2 straight after winning first game in cws to keep their streak of futility intact;
Schloss going to Texas and reminding aggy of their lot in life

I wonder if Schloss will be featured when the SEC network comes to town on the 30th? :smile1:

How so? TexAg folks confirmed he said the very topics mentioned in the video. The dance team was apparently a big issue.

This was probably made by the 2 ag idiots escorted out of the earlier game. Unbelievable.

We might as well take their song also:
After they’ve boasted all the rest,
They will come and join the BEST.
We are the Longhorns, the Longhorns are we,
In aggy minds we live rent free!!

    or something like that :trophy:

    Thought about this last night.

This may not be a popular take, and Shloss will probably be a great coach for Texas, but the manner by which he handled “the question” at the post game press conference is a commentary on the nature of the individual.

When asked that question, he could’ve easily dodged it by simply saying, “we just came within a run of winning a national championship. Don't you think we should celebrate and appreciate the great season we just had?”

Instead, his answer was a bold-faced lie. And an ugly one at that. Not a positive commentary on the character of the individual, and by association, not a wonderful reflection on the University of Texas. Others may disagree.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled that Aggie is miserable. But I am troubled by Shloss’s inability to anticipate the question and navigate the answer more adroitly.

Some things never change. The sun rises each day, the rich get taxed to death and the Aggies hatred and delusion over the University of Texas is immeasurable.

CDC has once again pulled the right levers and we are clearly positioned for another championship run. The next big announcement should be a huge upgrade to our existing baseball facilities. Great coaches, great tradition, soon to be great facilities and a best in class NIL financing arm.......all of the tools necessary to ensure that Omaha is not just a destination, but a consistent secondary address.

I thank he was fearful of getting attacked if he led on. He obviously hated aTm culture and who could blame him. The whole Aggie nation that supports Ball 5 and crappy fans yelling weird personal stuff had it coming and we taught them a lesson they won’t soon forget.

Yeah it seems like he could have deflected the question better in hindsight. Great coaches aren't necessarily great public speakers/debaters/orators etc so I'd like to give him a bit of a pass but you're right nontheless. He could have done much better with that answer.

"I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again. That hasn't changed in my mind."

Do we know that he was already speaking/colluding with CDC?

He didn't say, "I'll never leave here." He didn't say, "I won't entertain opportunities."

He said his intent was to stay there for the rest of his career. Then things changed. And it changed his mind.

If we find out CDC and Schloss were talking before his last game I'll agree with you. But his statements can be earnest, honest, and him take a new job hours later all at the same time in my mind.

    Why did Schloss leave?

    Insider's perspective:
    [ol]
    • He never liked the culture. He couldn't wrap his head around why people were freaking out about dancers on the dugouts. He felt he had a really hard time recruiting black players.
    • Once Jimbo was fired, word got around the buyout had to come from somewhere and it could be the baseball project. He never felt secure about the project.
    • Bjork hired him and then left.
    • Trevor Alberts fired senior staff including his baseball sport supervisor Chris Park. Why didn't they keep him on through the post season run? That tweet Schloss put out about the George Straight concert was rather telling. This was the tipping point. If baseball was important to the university, why let your guy go during the season? Trev BOTCHED this.
    • The decision to fire Childress was made before the second weekend of baseball in 2021 and Schloss was already the guy. This deal was all but done in April a week after the Texas loss to UTRGV. These deals are done long in the future.
    • Schloss' relationship with CDC cannot be underestimated. They talk on a weekly basis.
    • This could have been leaked the week after the regionals but Schloss lied about it to close people to protect himself. People close to him started asking questions since O'Connor got his extension and UT didn't hire Jay Johnson after LSU's regional loss. Schloss was ALWAYS their guy.

Aggies crying about what low-down dirty dogs we are - give me a break. You guys would stick to us the very same way in 3 seconds if you could. You hate us, and we hate you. Get over it.

Absolutely true. Those people are weird, and not in a way that engenders good feelings from observers. The weirdness that radiates off aggy crowds has a creepy Jim Jones vibe that alienates every halfway normal human being who comes in contact with it.
Can't agree with this. They never, ever learn from the lessons of the past. They just keep right on whooping, humping, and jizz-jarring their way through life, oblivious as to why everybody else "hates" them.

CDC and Schloss are good friends and talk all the time. There is absolutely no doubt the conversation turned toward the job being his if he wanted it, and if I had to guess, that conversation began right around the time we got punked by UTRGV and Pierce had his meltdown.

Both UTs are out to get aggy - it's a burnt orange + Tennessee orange co-conspiracy! Hire the lawyers! But if it weren't for volunteers, they'd be Mexico A&M. :lmao:

You aren't kidding. There is some comedy gold in there.

"The programs he has built make it even more impressive as his six wins in two CWS appearances at Texas A&M tripled the Aggies' all-time total of two CWS victories in the history of the program."

"What he did on the biggest stage for Texas A&M was significant, posting a 6-4 record in the two CWS appearances for a program that had just two CWS wins in its history."
