2020 Recruiting - Football

May 4 should have several OVs and some UOVs as well. Most of the names are know but Texas 247 says there may be at least one secret visitor.

With regard to ATH Devon Achane (FB Marshall) and ATH Mookie Cooper (St. Louis), Texas 247 thinks we take only one, not both. And so this weekend should clarify the Mookie-Texas relationship. He has already said he plans on using all 5 of his OVs.

ESPN updated their top 300 - a few of our guys got bumps -- Majors (+189), Garth (+62) and Card (+45).

1. Evans
109. Card
203. Parr
254. Majors

Looks like Branard Wright, Ty Jordan, Akinola Ogunbiyi, Brennan Scott, Darius Snow and Smart Chibuzo all dropped out of the ESPN 300.

The secret visitor is apparently Chad Lindberg. Not sure why the secrecy.

Speaking of this coming weekend, some of the OVs we know of, besides Lindberg, are --
Duncanville safety Chris Thompson
Cy-Ridge defensive lineman Vernon Broughton
+ commits Jake Majors, Logan Parr and Jaylen Garth.

Thompson and Broughton are priorities and the view is that the already committed OLs will be like having extra recruiters.

Former Texas commit Mookie Cooper's visit is an UOV

I've never been huge on kids having state loyalty. Outside of UT, I wouldn't consider any other Texas school. He was smart for not picking blOwU, for that he should be applauded. Texas has the only defensive staff that has proven they can coach in our conference. Maybe I can include ISU, but hey, they are ISU. For me, if I'm a top defensive player in this state, it's either Texas or out of state.

Calling it now that Mookie is a horn. Taking more visits actually helps Texas in my opinion. He is this year’s version of Shepard.
