Here was Ringo's DB coach

And here was one of Ringo's possible future coaches

BOOM!! That hit by Vasher was awesome! I was there for that one, I was surprised the guest of honor - the receiver, was eventually able walk away, let alone to get up off the turf at all! :trophy:

247 says Ringo does not have a return flight scheduled for now and that and his mom will be join him soon. He might spend the majority of his spring break in Austin....

From Holland --
".... Ringo made a surprise unofficial visit to Texas today. Ringo actually had no plans to visit Texas heading into the weekend. It wasn’t until after a conversation with offensive coordinator Tim Beck that sparked Ringo to catch a plane to Austin after competing in 7v7 in Los Angeles. Ringo wanted to keep the visit under wraps until he arrived on campus and got settled as he could be on the Forty Acres for an extended period of time.

I exchanged some messages with Ringo’s mother, Tralee Hale, who told me that Ringo actually doesn’t have a return flight — Ringo can fly around freely on standby since his mother works for an airline. He might stay in Austin for his entire spring break and catch practices throughout the week. Hale is supposed to be at Texas in the morning. She was trying to catch a flight tonight but was experiencing delays. This is a huge opportunity for Texas to make an impression on her....."

Some quotes from 5-star LB Justin Flowe --

“ .... Bru and Gabe are my boys. It’s pretty cool knowing that they are both over at Texas. They tell me that it’s a really great school and that they love it out there.”

“I talk to Coach Orlando all the time. He’s a really good coach. He tells me that he could see me starting as a true freshman. He said he could see me playing inside or outside. It’s just about where I fit the best.”

“The Longhorns stand pretty high. It’s a really good school. It’s a place I could see myself going to. It’s a school that I could see myself really balling out at. I’ve known about Texas since I was a kid. I just want to visit and feel comfortable.”

Keep that CA pipeline open coach

I haven’t seen a more violent hit on any level than the Vasher hit on the fake punt.

Vasher had several "knock their lights out" hits while on the 40 acres, among them this was one of the most memorable...especially for the recipient. I know I'd never forget being hit like that.

I was in the stands that day too. I told someone sitting nearby that Carlos' parents should sue Mike Leach for reckless endangerment for putting their son in position to take that hit with Vasher deep.

I was thinking of the Brackens hit too. It was devastating.

BOOM!! I remember seeing that hit, watched it through my binoculars. That kicker just disappeared off the field, laid by the old track for a while and had to helped off the field. Probably asked the coach to not run that play again, ever.:hookem::bevo:

Notice that it was helmet to helmet.

I’d like to add the block laid by Marquise Goodwin against UCLA in the Rose Bowl several years ago.

I suppose, though, that the hit by Richard Peavy on Marcus Dupree in the Cotton Bowl (1983?) might top them all.

From Holland --

"Four-star offensive lineman Chad Lindberg is going to spend his spring break away from home. Lindberg is set to visit Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech this week. Lindberg really does like Georgia and has a great relationship with that staff. Clemson is more of an intriguing option. It will be interesting to see where it stands after the visit. But don’t panic, Lindberg is going to visit Texas soon. His mother, Emily, told me they plan to be at the spring game in April."

Both S Chris Thompson, Jr. of Duncanville and ATH Ja'Quinden Jackson madeit to practice today.

Others in town now --
Ringo. Crawford. Garth. Brockermeyer. Brockermeyer. Kennedy Lewis. Xavian Alford.

Coaches Reginald Samples and Todd Dodge were also on campus today.

Mike Roach put in a CB for Kitan Crawford this morning to us. He's in Austin now. Here is IT on him

Kitan Crawford, CB - John Tyler (TX) (2020): Of the top UT cornerback targets, Crawford is the least known but maybe the most intriguing with strength at the POA and elite change of direction. He plays on both sides of the ball for Cujo, but his future is on the island. This is the second time Crawford will have seen the Horns in little over a month. Okie State, Colorado, and Tennessee recently offered, and Arkansas is pushing, but I'd put Texas at the top of his list right now. "I told (UT) at Junior Day I would return when spring practice began. It's incredible." He's a man of his word. Crawford doesn't have a timeline to announce, which means he'll be on watch this weekend just in case. His standing on the big board is high enough for us to be paying attention.
