2020 Recruiting - Football

Kendall Milton is #1 on my wish list. I love his ability to cut without slowing down a bit and he is already 220 lbs kid is IMO the best Runningback I've seen this year, no offense to Mr Evans has he is a very close second.

I'm loving this.

All those 5'star talents out west are looking at Texas, it's unprecedented.

A 5'star TE, WR, 2 Linebackers, 2 RBs

And none of them are from Texas. Toss in Evans and this class might make 2002 Class look like bread.

I hope we can take more than 25 this cycle

100% agree. USC, UCLA, ASU, and U of AZ are all down now. PAC 12 power has shifted to the North (and Utah). Lots of So Cal and AZ star athletes would just as soon go to Texas. We're the hot item now. Plus it seems as if the So Cal population is mass relocating to Texas--seemingly everybody there has a friend, acquaintance or relative that has moved to Texas.

Those who have worked with and befriended Californians over the years know this positive image of Texas out there is a new development to say the least. I even knew one Californian who vetoed his wife's first choice for their son's name, 'Austin', because of its association with Texas. I'm telling you the common image of Texas out there used to be a boring desolate land full of slow rednecks and devoid of culture or anything cool. Of course, many of them had never set foot in Texas--certainly not Austin.

Golden days for us recruiting So Cal and AZ. Lets get em while we can.

It's almost like our coaching staff anticipated what was going to happen, saw the opportunity, made a plan to take advantage and then began executing that plan.
What a novel concept

I'm a real estate guy, and trust me, I know exactly what you mean. It's the main reason why I've stayed out of Austin Real Estate. it's booming right now and the prices are way too inflated for Texas. However it is exactly why I have done a lot of real estate work in New Braunfels and San Marcos and the rest of the IH 35 corridor between San Antonio and Austin. It is attracting people like crazy but the prices are still a bit down.

In the not too distant future there is going to be a bullet train system connecting San Antonio and Austin and the two cities will be just like Los Angeles and San Diego. One big metropolis. Someone will toss a major sports venue right in the middle and you will see professional football and baseball teams fighting to play there. Give it about 20 years.

Got a big time dose of this last April while visiting NOLA. We talked to four different couples on separate occasions, who learning we were from Tejas (not sure how they knew :idk:) wanted to know about relocating to the Lone Star. All were couples our age (mid 60's or so) and were fed up with Cali nonsense.

He stayed an extra night in Austin than originally planned

All those 5'star talents out west are looking at Texas, it's unprecedented....

Here are some snippets from EJHolland on some of those 5-stars --

Sav’ell Smalls has been building a strong relationship with ... Todd Orlando and Bryan Carrington. Smalls speaks with both frequently and is looking to make an UOV at some point this spring — potentially for the spring game. Smalls is taking his time with things and said he is completely open.
Johnny Wilson... how big of a contender is UT? A huge one. Wilson plans to make an UOV to Texas in the next month or two. He will also use an OV on Texas down the line. While there is a lot of pull for him to stay closer to home, Wilson loves the program and has built a bond with Drew Mehringer.
Kelee Ringo ... is still very high on Texas. He has a great relationship with the entire coaching staff and keeps up with them frequently. Ringo is looking to get back to Austin before the end of spring and will also likely use an OV on Texas.
Darnell Washington ... (basically wants to hear more from our coaches)

Yet another North Texas player to ou
ATH Michael Henderson of Carrollton Ranchview
I had big plans for him
There is something going on here. For some reason the North Texas HS coaches are not buying into Herman/Texas. The obvious concern is at some point Texas is going to need to make a haul/prevent ou from making a haul from North Texas. One has to play both offense and defense.
