Shucks!Nahlin does not think Helfrich to Texas is happening
What’s the deal with the Todd dodge talk
Here is the idea with Beck, as they see it
This will free up Tim Beck to hit the road hard. Beck has a good reputation in this regard. As I stated when he was hired, he's more of the point man on recruits than the closer. He isn't the reason Ohio State landed Baron Browning and Jeffrey Okudah, but he served as a great introduction to Ohio State. He's already done the same at Texas with Cameron Rising and Casey Thompson. He was the set-up man for Urban Meyer and I believe will look to serve the same role for Herman.
...what does Herman think about Beck's career progression?
IMO, replacing him at OC answers that
...I like Todd, helped recruit him, but his personality is just different, not bad, but frequently misconstrued.
sabre, do you let go of a guy you like go rather than demote and keep him?
Mehringer started following Brian Wright, the Toledo OC
Toledo was #9 in total offense in 2017 (509.9 yards per game)
#11 in scoring (39.2 points per game)
#16 in passing (291.9 yards)
#24 rushing (218.0 yards)
Good stats for 2016 as well
Playing in the MAC
They even go by "UT"
Prior to coming to Toledo, Wright coached at Florida Atlantic for four seasons as the Owls’ offensive coordinator. Wright stepped in as interim head coach for the final four games of the 2013 season, leading the Owls to four consecutive victories and bowl eligibility (6-6) for the first time since 2008. FAU outscored its last four opponents, 151-40, and averaged 428.8 yards per game. Sophomore quarterback Jaquez Johnson earned Conference USA Newcomer of the Year and set the then-school record for total offense.
So are we just speculating here (too lazy to re-read the thread)? Is there any real indication that Herman is actively looking to make this move and bring in an new OC?
Everyone gets to add a 10th assistant
https://www.sbnation.com/college-fo...4/ncaa-10th-assistant-coach-rule-january-2018
I was aware of the 10th coach having read it earlier on the thread; my question was really based on the OC idea. That would be a big move. Adding a position coach or QC not so much in terms of news and and impact.
Hang him in effigy? The hell with that! Let's just hang him right there in Austin!Ok, just saying, isn't it a little early to give Tim Beck the GDGD treatment? Let him "screw up" for at least two seasons before everyone hangs him in effigy.....GDGD had Applewhite as a redshirt frosh and some running back who may have won some awards and mayyybeee played in the NFL for a couple of seasons while perhaps toking a bit....
That quote was a slight twist on a Coach quote from an episode of Cheers. Wish I could take credit haha.damn Chicago! bwaha!
