Texas hasn’t had a WR taken in the first round since 2004. We haven’t had a DT taken in the first round since 2014. Texas hasn’t had both an offensive and defensive player drafted in the first round since 2006.
The 84 draft saw 23 Horns signed including the walkon DT from Pflugerville who stuck a few years with the Steelers. I think in five years he actually played fewer than 10 plays.
Yeah, uh, wow. Wow. Wow. That is some underwhelming support. Pretty sure my family cheered about 5x as loud here at home. The reaction from teammates and others even distantly connected to the program is startling and disappointing - even if Murphy himself wasn’t there. I would guess that a cornerstone of “culture” is supporting your teammates. I would love to hear someone seriously rationalize the reaction on that video of a teammate being drafted in the first round.
^^^ Mountain being made out of a mole hill. Not time to look for something negative. Congratulations to Murphy and Worthy and every Longhorn that is drafted.
Thank you for descalating. I would have preferred a real discussion, but you’re prolly right. Maybe my family needs to divest from the Horns. If they can’t cheer for each other, then why should my family cheer for any of them?
